FAQs

Following are answers to some of the most frequent questions that are asked about therapy visits:

What do I need to bring to my first visit?

We ask that you bring your driver's license, your insurance card, your doctor's prescription for therapy, and your co-pay amount. If you have filled out new patient forms in advance, please bring those also.

How should I dress for my appointments?

We recommend that you dress in casual loose fitting clothing and wear either casual or athletic shoes.

How often will I need to come for appointments?

The number of appointments and their frequency varies by your diagnosed condition and proposed treatment plan, which will be recommended by your therapist after your initial evaluation.  The range of treatment frequency is most typically 1-3 times per week, with the majority of patients seeing their therapist twice a week.  A majority of patients complete their therapy in 8-12 visits.

What would be the cost of treatment?

The cost of treatment depends on a number of factors:  the patient's diagnosis, the services recommended for the diagnosis and the insurance coverage of the patient.  We do offer discounts for all-cash payments.  For more information, please call the front office of the clinic you are considering to visit, and also Access Rehab Centers' Billing Department.

Will my insurance pay for therapy?

We accept most insurances. At the time of your first visit, we will have verified your insurance coverage and copay amounts, and will communicate that to you.

How experienced are your therapists in treating my condition?

Please contact one of our clinics to speak to the clinic manager who will provide you with a recommendation as to the most experienced clinician(s) specializing in your condition.  This/these therapists are best able to answer this question.  If you would like to request statistics on the number of patients seen by Access Rehab Centers with your condition please call (203) 419-0381 Ext. 230.

If I am a parent bringing a child to therapy, will I be able to attend the therapy session?

Depending on the age of your child and his/her condition, you may participate in the child's therapy session. If the therapist believes it is better to work with the child alone, they will communicate this to you and discuss the session with you at the end of each treatment.
